Welcome to Stage Stars!
Stage Stars is an Amazing Singing and Performance Academy based in Astley, Manchester.
Put together and run personally by Jo Day, Stage Stars Academy was an idea that came about when Jo was inspired to create something new, after being unable to find a suitable group for her own daughters.
She wanted somewhere that had a strong focus on singing and where movement and performance would be included but without it being specifically just dance or drama.
Each session works on basic vocal techniques, movement, performance tips and singing a variety of songs in a group.
From pop to musical theatre, the children are encouraged to join in and sing together or even on their own using the microphones and pa system.
The emphasis on fun, building confidence, self-esteem and releasing their inner pop star!
The Academy building has excellent facilities, including car park, and plenty of space for the students to use up their creative energy!
In 2019 Stage Stars added Street Dance to the lesson line up, it has proved extremely popular and marked the start of the academy's expansion. It has also meant that we have brought in professional dance teachers to run the classes.
In 2020, despite the global pandemic, Stage Stars was able to include Drama lessons to the line up of classes on offer and during the lockdown period, it has proved very popular! Again we have brought in a professional drama teacher to run the classes.
Although there are no exams or competitions, we do have performances and shows to demonstrate the children's exciting new skills & abilities and the two shows so far have been fantastic!.

We've all had a difficult time recently and the many changes we've had to adjust to has had an effect on our physical and mental health.
So here is a great way to get moving in a relaxed and welcoming environment, come get involved and have some fun getting a bit fitter!

A fantastic session to improve confidence and self esteem and most importantly have fun and make friends!
Drama is also excellent for mental
health and voice control as well as speaking in public, either at school or at home.

A fantastic session for year 7+ Make new friends, build confidence and improve self esteem.
Learn vocal technique, microphone technique, group singing, solo & harmony singing plus, all round performance tips and direction.
All music styles covered from pop to musical theatre!
The 2020 Stage Stars show will now be happening when restrictions are lifted and will hopefully at The Dancehouse Theatre in Manchester.
Obviously this is all subject to how things go but we are determined
to go ahead as soon as it's safe to do so!

Jo is a professional singer and entertainer who has worked all over the UK and Europe for over 18 years and has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge to pass onto the children.
Jo is also an established children's entertainer who has the ability to engage with children on their level through encouragement and performance.
Stage Stars takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at Astley Community Club,
Manchester Rd, Astley, Manchester M29 7DY
- it is an excellent venue that has a number of key facilities, including car parking.

Stage Stars is a fantastic session that encourages and promotes confidence and self esteem through music and singing.
The emphasis is on singing as a group, learning warm ups, vocal technique and harmony in a fun and inspiring way.
From pop to musical theatre, Each session incorporates basic movement, performance tips and singing a variety of songs in the group, the children are encouraged to join in and sing together and even on their own, using the professional microphones and pa system!

Mini's
Stage Stars Mini's is a session that focuses on fun & confidence building.
Children are encouraged to sing and dance together, starting with basic vocal warm ups, singing and dancing to a wide variety of music.
They also make use of pom-poms and colourful ribbons to ensure each session is fun & energetic, plus everyone is given the opportunity to sing songs using the microphone and pa system so they get to feel like a real pop star!
Perfect for ages 7 and under!
